Gretchruns Playlist #1 - Easy Run

Hi everyone!  Today, I'll be sharing my first playlist with all of you.  I love to keep different playlists on my phone for different workouts and runs just to keep myself guessing and stay motivated and entertained for my workout!  I think music plays a big part in how my workout goes, so having a perfect mix is really important to me.

The first one I'm sharing is what I would listen to on short, easy runs.  The goal of this mix is to have music that will keep me going for 30-60 minutes, but not push the pace too much.  I added a mix of old songs, new songs, and even a country song.

Another bonus- all of these songs are available on Amazon Music!  If you have an Amazon Prime account, you can add these to a playlist and even download them for free.
I also made a playlist on Spotify (click to go to playlist) so you can listen for free without doing any work. Enjoy!

This song is so sweet and fun. I'm trying to get dan to sing this duet with me at our wedding but he's refusing so far. Wouldn't that be so cool??!

What are some of your favorite songs for working out?

What other types of playlists would you like to see?

  1. Ahhh Pitbull, you got to be kidding me. The one singer I hate most in life would be him. Rather than not a bad list, not my type but not bad. I want to see your list for when you really need to get pumped up

    1. Hey Shaun, sorry you didn't like my mix! I like to listen to Pitbull when I run because he always has a good, steady beat and I like listening to hispanic music since I speak Spanish, but I can understand why you wouldn't like him. I'll leave him off my next list :)

What's your favorite genre of music? I'll make sure to include some in my next mix!

    2. I listen to all types of music.. If I had to pick one genre that I choose the most it would be hip-hop, but there are some great rock songs that motivate me...
Frontline from the group Pillar is an awesome song for motivation

    1. Definitely. I don't know how people run without it! It seems like most elites don't workout or race with music...I don't get it!

  3. Cool list, thanks! I love that version of Sexyback! I usually listen to rap/hip hop (Eminem, Snoop, etc) or industrial while running. Skynyrd sometimes. I absolutely have to listen to Combichrist when doing speedwork. Five Finger Death Punch helps me lift.

    1. Ohh I don't know that song! I'll have to add it to my next playlist I share. I'm getting all kinds of ideas today! Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Thanks for this & for putting it on Spotify! I'm one of the ones who doesn't listen to music when I run. I started running using the Chi Running technique, which advocates against music so you can focus on all the things about your form. Ever since then I just got in the habit of running without it. Plus, when I run on weekdays it's very early in the dark & I'm by myself, so I definitely need to be aware of my surroundings. That said, I can see how music would help on fast runs, so I'd like to try it. I'm clueless about popular music since I usually listen to indie, so this is very helpful!
