MIMM : Perfect Summer Weekend

Hi everyone and Happy Monday!! I hope that you all had some fun this weekend.  It was a beautiful, sunny 3 days here in Pittsburgh, and I tried to enjoy it as much as possible.  Here are some highlights from my weekend (linking up with Katie, Erin and HoHo Runs!)

Spent a lot of time in the park.  I even climbed a few trees (then freaked out about falling and breaking an ankle)

Selma had a ton of fun. We have a 50-foot leash that we hook her to so she can run around and chase squirrels, but not run into the street. I love her huge smile as soon as she starts running!

Dan was also climbing trees, and Selma tried to join him!  Unfortunately paws aren't very useful for climbing.  Sorry, Selma!

Early morning run on the North Shore trail.  The Women's National Team was playing at Heinz Field, so there were lots of people out and vendors setting up for the game.  The women ended up winning 8-0!

It was my Grandma's birthday, so we all met up for lunch.  My Grandma and I both got a chicken teriyaki wrap from Monte Cello's and loved it!

The highlight of the weekend was playing mini golf.  We all had a great time and my sister and her husband both won a free game by getting a hole in one on the final hole!

How was your weekend?
What were the highlights?

  2. I had a pretty much perfect summer weekend too! Spent most of Saturday out on the boat with the most gorgeous weather. Sunday was a bit rough with an 18 mile long run, but I did get to take a nap afterward so that pretty much evens it out.

  3. Poor Selma! She needs claws to get up in that tree. I watched the women's game yesterday and it wasn't much of a competition.

    1. That's what I heard about the game! It's great they drew a big crowd and won, but I wonder if people were disappointed that it wasn't very exciting.

    1. It was fun! I don't usually like mini golf that much but I had a blast with my family :)

  5. I can't believe they got the ball in the final hole! I've never seen anyone do that in mini golf. That's awesome. Those mini golf park owners don't like giving away free games and they make that final hole as tricky as heck.

  7. I love mini golf. Which reminds me I haven't played in far too long. Probably because I get a wee-bit competitive :)

  9. I LOVE climbing trees!! but i'm such a cat, i climb up and up and up and then i panic when it comes time to head back down. same with hiking/run trails. uphills are my favorite by far, but if the downhill is steep... id rather just slide down on my butt!!

  12. I cracked up about Selma, she is adorbs. I can't wait until we get a puppy! I have a very limited tolerance for mini golf. 1 course, short, not terribly difficult holes, follow with froyo. Then we'll discuss :D

    1. Haha I love your stipulations for playing! I would never suggest playing but I always have fun when I go. Froyo would be a perfect end though :)

  13. Sounds like a great weekend! I haven't played mini golf in years. Selma is such a pretty dog. Your early morning run pic is gorgeous too!

  14. We love to play putt-putt (aka mini golf). We play every night when we go to the beach and it gets highly competitive. Selma is very pretty. It looks like she has an interesting mark on her chest but I can't really see what the shape is. Both of my dogs love chasing squirrels. Thanks so much for linking up with us today!

  17. I am way too chicken to climb trees - even when I was little I was terrified that I would get stuck or fall and break my neck....(dramatic, no??)

Is that the mini gold course on Babcock Blvd?? I LOVE that place! I haven't made it out this summer yet though - hopefully I will soon! Happy birthday to Grandma!!!

    1. Haha I'm the same way! I'll only go up to the first branch and chill out there. And yes it is! It's SO nice now..they added tons of new features and completely redid a lot of the holes. It's still $5 too!!

  18. That's such a cute cake!! I haven't climbed a tree since...I don't know how long - I think I'd be too afraid! Haha.
