MIMM : Weekend in Boiling Springs

What a weekend!  Dan and I went across the state to visit his family in Boiling Springs.  We also had a race planned while we were there - the Diakon Outdoor Adventure Challenge.  It definitely was a challenge, and the entire weekend was a ton of fun.  Here's a little peek at some of the highlights! (linking up with Erin and Katie!)

Someone was pretty excited for the trip!  Selma used to hate riding in cars, but lately she's been loving it!  I have to sit in the back with her or she gets sick, and she just cuddles in my lap the entire time.  Love it!

Early morning walks along Children's Lake.  This is a fresh spring with a few "bubbles" - hence Boiling Springs and the high school mascot- the Bubblers.

First place in my age group at the race!  (and repping Penn State!  Another WIN for the team this weekend!)

After the race, we got to try out the high ropes course!  It was a lot of fun and tough.  It ended with a zip line at the end which I loved!  There was also a great picnic that was free with the race.  I really enjoyed the race and would recommend it if you're in the area!

Loved it!

We got home and met this cute little girl!  Dan's family got a new puppy- a golden named Lily.  How adorable is she??
Selma and Lily quickly became best friends and wouldn't stop playing the entire weekend.  It was so adorable!  I'm thinking we might need to get a new friend for Selma...she seemed so happy!

We took lots of bike and car rides around the area.  This was a really pretty overlook near some apple orchards.

What a great weekend!  Let me know what you got up to and what your plans are for the upcoming week!

  19. Aww, Lily is adorable! Since we lost our old dog my husband has been wanting to get a new puppy for our Labrador so she is not lonely. I would like to get a Golden retriever but they scare me with their multiple health issues.

We love Boiling Springs. We try to go there every year and do the murder mystery at Allenberry resort!

    1. It seems like every breed of dog can have health issues, so I wouldn't let that deter you! I love goldens and they are really sweet dogs.

I haven't heard of the murder mystery..next time we visit I might have to check it out!

  20. That ropes course looks like so much fun! Congratulations on placing first!

How cute are Selma and Lily together! We got our puppy, Trixie, last November and whilst our older dog Chanel was terrified of her at first, they are best buddies now and cannot go a second without one another.
