MIMM : Weekend in Boiling Springs
What a weekend! Dan and I went across the state to visit his family in Boiling Springs. We also had a race planned while we were there - the Diakon Outdoor Adventure Challenge. It definitely was a challenge, and the entire weekend was a ton of fun. Here's a little peek at some of the highlights! (linking up with Erin and Katie!)
Early morning walks along Children's Lake. This is a fresh spring with a few "bubbles" - hence Boiling Springs and the high school mascot- the Bubblers.
First place in my age group at the race! (and repping Penn State! Another WIN for the team this weekend!)
After the race, we got to try out the high ropes course! It was a lot of fun and tough. It ended with a zip line at the end which I loved! There was also a great picnic that was free with the race. I really enjoyed the race and would recommend it if you're in the area!
Loved it!
We got home and met this cute little girl! Dan's family got a new puppy- a golden named Lily. How adorable is she??
Selma and Lily quickly became best friends and wouldn't stop playing the entire weekend. It was so adorable! I'm thinking we might need to get a new friend for Selma...she seemed so happy!
We took lots of bike and car rides around the area. This was a really pretty overlook near some apple orchards.
What a great weekend! Let me know what you got up to and what your plans are for the upcoming week!
Love seeing the Penn State shirt! Did you watch the game on Saturday? They did great!!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! It was such a great game. Loved the stripes as well!
DeleteAwe, you really did have a great weekend! Congrats again on that win! I spent mine at my boys' rugby games and then I took my oldest son out for dinner for his 15th birthday. Indian food! It was so great spending one on one time with him.
ReplyDeleteThanks suzy!! You are such a great mom. I want Indian food now...yummm
DeleteFirst congrats on taking first in your age group at the race. Glad you got to enjoy your weekend. This weekend coming up for me is nothing but races. I am really looking forward to it

Deleteoh what a fun weekend! though that course looks super hard haha. Lily is absolutely adorable! Goldens get me every time. Wish we could get one, but don't think my cats would enjoy that.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't too bad..as long as you have good balance and aren't afraid of heights ;)
DeleteI love golden retrievers! Did you se Kaley Cuoco on Jimmy Fallon last week? So many puppies!
ReplyDeleteNo!! Looking it up now. Thanks lesley!

Cats can take some warning up...they might disappear for a while! And Selma was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!!

DeleteCongratulations on your race! It's awesome that you got first in your age group! Is Selma a lab? Your family's new puppy is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren!! And yes she is! The Humane Society also said she's part beagle. I can see it but no one else believes me!
DeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful weekend. Congratulations on your win too! Those are adorable pics of Selma and Lily. I missed you on the link this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly! I'll be back next week :)
DeleteAww, Lily is adorable! Since we lost our old dog my husband has been wanting to get a new puppy for our Labrador so she is not lonely. I would like to get a Golden retriever but they scare me with their multiple health issues.
ReplyDeleteWe love Boiling Springs. We try to go there every year and do the murder mystery at Allenberry resort!
It seems like every breed of dog can have health issues, so I wouldn't let that deter you! I love goldens and they are really sweet dogs.
DeleteI haven't heard of the murder mystery..next time we visit I might have to check it out!
That ropes course looks like so much fun! Congratulations on placing first!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are Selma and Lily together! We got our puppy, Trixie, last November and whilst our older dog Chanel was terrified of her at first, they are best buddies now and cannot go a second without one another.
Thanks so much! I'm happy to hear your dogs are getting along well, and I love their names. I was worried how Selma would do, but now I really want to get her a little buddy!
