Top Five Moments of September

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm actually blogging right now from Penn State at Irving's.  Any other Nittany Lions out there remember this sandwich shop?  I love it!  I'm finally feeling fall up here and sipping on a pumpkin chai...sounds odd but is actually delicious.

Once again, this has been a really busy, hectic week.  On Tuesday, I got to do some more recruiting for work at Carnegie Mellon University, and today I had to judge presentations in a senior IT Consulting class.  It was a lot of fun, and definitely makes me miss being in college! It also helped the week fly by.  Not complaining about that :)

At the end of a month, I love to look back and remember my favorite events.  There are always so many things that happen in the course of 30 days that I forget a lot of what happened by the end of the month, so I want to reminisce a bit and recap my top moments with this short (and hopefully sweet) post.  Have a great weekend!

Steelers 5k

This race was undoubtedly my favorite of the year so far!  Not only did I set a PR and feel amazing, but the entire race atmosphere is great.  I got lots of free Steelers gear, got to see Charlie Batch, and saw a ton of my friends running and cheering on the race!

Making New Friends

This was a pretty social month for me! I got the opportunity to meet a few new people, and get to know friends that I've met through blogging in real life as well.  Lynne recently moved from Denver, so it's been great getting to know her and introduce her to new places around the city, and I was so happy to be invited to Steff's for dinner and meet a ton of other runners!  The best part of blogging for me has been connecting with so many different people with similar interests, so this was a highlight of my year!

Recruiting Trips

As I mentioned, this week I got to attend another career fair and I'm back at Penn State to recruit.  Earlier this month I attended the Penn State career fair and it was so much fun!  It was always a dream of mine to do some recruiting as a side part of my job, so the fact that I've gotten the opportunity to do that this year has been amazing.  I also shared some tips for acing your next career fair in this post.

Boiling Springs Weekend

The entire weekend in Boiling Springs was really fun, particularly the 5k challenge Dan and I completed along with the ropes course.  We had a great time exploring the countryside, and it was a great weekend to get away from the city and relax!

Hiking in Ohiopyle

The highlight of the month for me was definitely our trip to Ohiopyle!  The little town is so gorgeous, and we had a really fun time exploring the trails.  Selma had a blast, and I can't wait to go on more trips (hopefully before it gets too cold!)

Shows

Dancing with the Stars

I am all about Tamar.  She is so sassy and fabulous, but also an incredible dancer.  I am continuously shocked by her dances, and I think she's a perfect partner for Val.  I really liked Alexa's jazz number, but once again I felt that the spectacle of the dance overshadowed her skill.  Take it down a notch choreographers!

Scandal

Just to warn you all, I'm going to be a week behind with my Thursday night dramas since I have to watch on Hulu.  However, I finally got to watch the premier and I honestly wasn't that impressed.  I was expecting some huge episode since it feels like we've been waiting for a really long time for the premier, and was a little let down!  I'm hoping the season picks up, or I might have to drop this show.

How to Get Away with Murder

On the other hand, Shonda Rhimes's other show was fantastic.  I loved the continuation of the previous season, the super creepy adopted siblings, and the shocking twist at the end.  I love how the first episode gives you the plot line for the entire season, and now we just have to figure out how the story will get there.  What happened with Wes, and where are the siblings?!

The Voice

I'm not completely caught up with this season, but I've already heard some stand-out singers.  I'm not really a fan of the blind auditions and I feel like they go on forever.  I'll be excited a pick a few favorites once the knock-out and battle rounds start, but I'm really looking forward to some of the talent I've heard so far!
