Top Five Friday #64

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm excited to be doing a good old-fashioned Top Five Friday post!  I have a lot to share today, including a few of my recent favorite albums and some products.  I hope you enjoy, and have a terrific weekend!

Play! By Sephora

I got my second Play bag, and this was a good month!  The theme was all about the eyes, and here are the products that I got:
- Caudalie eye lifting balm - I've been using this all week and it's very moisturizing! This might look like a small size, but since you only need it on a tiny area it will last a really long time.  A full size is over $60 though, so I probably won't purchase it!

- Sephora eyeliner in 15 (taupe) - This is one of my all-time favorite liners, so I was really excited to see this in the box!  The color is gorgeous, and the formula is smooth and long wearing.  The liner is only $10, so if you're looking for a new liner I would suggest trying these out!

- Lancome moisturizer - I haven't noticed anything special about this moisturizer, but it gets the job done and I love this size for taking to the gym!

- Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in I544 (pink granite) - This shadow is absolutely perfect.  The color is gorgeous, and it's one of those shadows you can throw all over and blend out and it looks amazing.  This is a tiny size, but since it's so pigmented it will last a while!

- Urban Decay Perversion mascara - I love getting mini sizes of mascara, and this one is great!  It gives me lots of volume and is really easy to use.

- Clean Reserve Blonde Rose perfume - Usually I don't like rose scented products, but this one is so light and pleasant and I really like it!

Kitchen Updates

There's been so much work going on in our house, and I'm in love with how our kitchen is coming along!  I probably spend more time in there than any other room!  I'm sharing updates on my home blog, and you can see what updates I made in this post!

No More Facebook!

A few weeks ago, I decided to deactivate my Facebook account!  There are a few reasons why I decided to do that, but it boiled down to the fact that it didn't add anything positive to my life.  Either I was comparing myself to others, looking back at bad memories, seeing depressing news or reading political rants on a daily basis- none of which did me any good.  So, I deactivated and haven't looked back yet!

New Music

There are so many songs out there that I like recently, so today I decided to share my favorite "new" albums (new is a relative term here!).  The best part is that these are all on Amazon Music :)
Lindsey Stirling - Brave Enough
favorite song: Hold My Heart
I absolutely love Lindsey Stirling!  I've been a fan of hers for years and even saw her live.  This is by far my favorite album that she's come out with.

Mozart in the Jungle soundtrack
I'm a huge classical music nerd, and this is my favorite violin piece!  This entire soundtrack has some of my favorite classical songs, so I would recommend giving it a listen!

Chvrches - Every Open Eye
favorite song: Never Ending Circles
I stumbled on this group while I was looking through new music on Amazon, and their sound completely caught my attention!  It reminds me of 90's pop mixed with modern electronic music.  It's so interesting and fun!

twenty one pilots - BLURRYFACE
favorite song: Ride
Dan and I rock out to this song when we're driving around, and I'm considering it my summer anthem!  It's such a fun song with a slight reggae sound..I love it!

Adele - 25
favorite song: Send My Love
I'm sure you've all heard of Adele, but I'm finally, just now, listening to her latest album.  This song is much more upbeat and fun than what she usually sings, but I really like it!

  1. FB is my least favorite social media. I wish I could just use it as my blog's page. I would much rather just follow bloggers and brands because their posts usually add something of value. Others not so much..lol

  2. Your kitchen looks great! I agree Facebook is getting more annoying as the years go by. Although, what about the tribe?! We will be sad without you!

    1. Thanks Heather! And that's definitely one reason why I was debating keeping it..but I can keep up with you ladies on here and via email!

  3. Loved this fun update!! Congrats on deactivating Facebook! It feels great to let go of things that are not being a positive force in our life, doesn't it? Your kitchen is looking great and it's always fun to see what you're cooking on Snapchat!

  4. I'm seriously so proud of you for getting rid of FB. As you know, I have been wanting to do this for some time but haven't quite pulled the trigger yet. It is by far the worst of the social media platforms, IMO. I'm hesitant to get rid of it yet because whenever I post my blog updates on FB I get a lot more traffic. I know, I know, totally vain reason!

    1. You can do it! And yes..it's the worst. Adds no value to my life!

  5. Congrats on getting off of FB! I keep debating... but right now I've settled on not checking it all the time anymore.

  6. GO YOU for getting rid of FB. I waste so much time on it and I don't even like FB. I starting putting a timer on my computer so that I can't waste as much time, though, and that has helped!

    1. Same for me! I keep finding myself mindlessly going to facebook now (and of course can't get on), so it's definitely been eye-opening to see how much time I used to waste on there!

  8. Good for you for quitting Facebook. I use it to promote my book but I'm not as active on it as I used to. Instagram and Twitter are my faves.

  9. Love the kitchen. I would dance around it while listening to Lindsay Stirling (who I have listened to on I can't tell you how many runs!). I'm on Facebook, most because it is my only venue for connecting with certain people who don't do the others. But I totally understand!

  10. LOVE your kitchen! It looks so clean and modern. I've thought about deactivating Facebook before but I use it a lot to keep in touch with friends in other countries, and November Project is primarily run through FB, so it's kind of necessary for me. My ex-boyfriend never had a Facebook and had no intention of ever getting one though, so it's obviously not that important and you'll still talk to the people who matter!

    1. Thanks Sarah! In my mind, if I can only connect to them through Facebook, then it's probably not a very important relationship to me if that makes sense. I usually use imessage or Whats App to keep in touch with my international friends, so that definitely helps!

  11. I always debate getting off of Facebook too, but the only thing is that I stay in contact with some blog/family friends. It's so hard. :)

And your kitchen LOOKS beeyootiful! :)

  12. LOVE your kitchen! looks awesome. I am barely on FB anymore. I unfollowed everyone so the only news I get it actual news or events. So refreshing. I won't delete it completely, yet... but I use it as sparingly as possible.

  13. oh man I have really been toying with buh bye facebook...but I don't think I can just yet. though i'm not on it as much

  14. Part of me wants to quit Facebook and part of me hangs on... don't know why.

Love your kitchen and what you did with it. It's small, but so cozy!

  15. I have deactivated my facebook quite a few times and have been thinking about doing it again soon. The biggest thing that bugs me is people constantly complaining or posting political rants... drives me crazy!!! Love your white cabinets in your kitchen.. so pretty!! Have a great weekend!

  16. I actually love fb for connecting with far flung friends and family and keeping in touch but I am a big believer in doing what works for you!

    1. Same! Just because I don't like it or use it anymore doesn't mean it won't work for someone else!

  17. i will have to try that urban decay mascara - i love trying new mascaras! i'm afraid of boxes and stuff like that though haha because i don't want to fall in love with a product like that eye cream when the full size is $60 - ouch!
    i love adele's album :) so good!
good for you for getting rid of facebook. a couple of years ago i deleted like 200 people and only use it for family/friends at home now. i rarely get on it, but when i do, all the things that stressed me out are gone and i only see things i want to see now. KC deleted his around the same time and hasn't looked back either.
    have a good weekend!
