Top Five Friday #65
Happy September everyone! I'm usually excited for Fridays, and this one is even better since it's a long weekend. These always seem to come at the perfect time, and after this week I'm really looking forward to an extra day off. I never believed in Mercury Retrograde before, but this week has been a series of unfortunate events so now I'm a believer!
On to happier topics- my favorites from the week! I have a lot to share today, so keep on reading!

Brooks Launch 3
I was in extreme need of new running shoes, because my favorite Pure Flows have holes in them! I found this out during Seawheeze and ended up with a huge blister on my foot. Luckily, I had some coupons and rewards from Dick's to use, and ended up getting these for $60! I've only worn them twice so far, but I love how lightweight and quick they are. We'll see how they work on long runs this weekend! If you're interested in a more in-depth review, Hollie just shared a review on her blog!US Open
I can't believe it, but we're in the final Slam of the year! The US Open is one of my favorites to watch for a few reasons. This is the only one in my time zone, so it's easy to watch all the matches, there are a lot of younger Americans that get wild cards or qualifying spots which is always exciting to watch (go CiCi!!), and the tournament feels like a big party! It's so fun to watch, and there have already been a ton of upsets. Can't wait to see what will happen next week!
Pumpkin Season!
Now that it's September, it's finally acceptable to have all things pumpkin. It's my favorite time of the year! I have to admit that I started earlier this week with some seasonal beers, but now I'm also busting out the pumpkin spice coffee. I picked up this one from Target, and it's amazing! The pumpkin taste is subtle and doesn't taste fake. I would recommend it! Now, I just have to get all of my fall candles out and be completely ready for fall!
"The Weekender" Series
I'm loving all things DIY, and this youtube series on Lowe's channel is so great! The episodes are a great length, and feature five projects to transform one room in a weekend. I've gotten so much inspiration and I'm already excited for the next "season" to come out!
That's right...Britney Spears is back with a new CD and an appearance in Carpool Karaoke! As someone who has been a fan through the highs and the lows (aka the head shaving phase), it's great to see her come out with some new music. While this isn't ground-breaking music or anything incredible, she knows how to make catchy songs that I want to listen to!

I almost bought a pair of the launch at the Sports Authority Going out of business sale. But I had just bought 2 other pairs of shoes, so I decided to wait. We shall see if I ever get them!
ReplyDeleteIf you seem them again, scoop up a few pairs for me :)
DeleteI'm really only loving a couple of Britney's new songs. I have always been a huge fan of hers (her concert was the first one I ever went to when I was a kid) but I didn't really enjoy her on Carpool Karaoke. :\ I appreciate her grinding to keep putting music out - she is awesome! I guess I've just moved on. Except for her song "Make Me" ft. G-Eazy (who I LOVE!) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThat's true...on her new CD I either love the song or hate it. Make Me is definitely a "love"!!
DeleteI LOVE a good DIY. I used to make more of them on my blog, but now it's more beauty-related. I did share a tray last month or so. But anyway, I've got to check this out!! I need new sneakers since my feet are just awful.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing DIY projects!! If you bring them back I would love seeing what you come up with :)
Deleteyay for pumpkin! I want to try celestial seasonings pumpkin tea! I'm so happy Britney is back--I used to be such a fan growing up!
ReplyDeleteSame here!! Britney + Justin for life
DeleteGive me alllllll the pumpkin spice things! I need them!
ReplyDeleteSAMEEE
DeleteI love love love my Brooks Launch! I've tried a ton of different brands/models and these may be my favorite of them all! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear! Hope you have a good one as well :)
DeleteLove all things pumpkin :) And Britney Spears! Even though I don't listen to her new stuff.. I am a sucker for her old music! :)

Yes!! Toxic is still one of my favorite songs :)
DeleteI'm so excited about pumpkin! And... I think we'll probably just be relaxing this weekend. :) So thankful for long weekends.
ReplyDeleteSame for me..I need some rest!
DeleteI'm excited about pumpkin too, although I still think the beginning of September is way too early to be all like "fall is HERE!" I'm sure we have at least one more heat wave to endure before cool days and crisp leaves arrive. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's feeling really cool here (but the heat is back next week), so for now I'm all about fall!!
DeleteOh I love that Britney video! So cute! I need to check out her album. I forgot to do that yesterday. I hope you feel better soon, and that you don't feel the need to shave your head although you'd look cute like that too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzy!! You're the best :)
DeleteMy sister went from the Pure flow to the Launch and she loves them!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy all things pumpkin. I see Cheerios is coming out with a pumpkin flavor.
Yes everyone's snapping about them! I think I'll pass though..not a big cereal eater!
DeleteI'm so annoyed that we never time our US trips for pumpkin season (because generally we're always heading there in the spring/summer to escape Australia's winter - unless we're heading to Cali and then sometimes we'll be there in Sept/Oct/Nov) because I want to buy ALL THE PUMPKIN THINGS! :P
ReplyDeleteHopefully one year you can make it in fall! The weather is so perfect right now too :)
DeleteI like pumpkin but am not crazy about a lot of fake pumpkin flavor, if that makes sense! :)
ReplyDeleteYes! If it tastes too fake I don't like it either so I completely agree!
DeleteI've been glued to ESPN watching the US Open, I don't know why but I get so inspired by these beautiful, strong and powerful tennis players, especially the women.
ReplyDeleteOooh I need to try that pumpkin coffee. I've already burned a pumpkin candle or two and even though I love summer, I'll admit I'm excited for fall too! :) Hope you're having a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice score on the shoes! Running shoes are so expensive, any time I can get away with a pair for under $100 I feel like I got a steal.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for all the pumpkin things too! I need to stock up on fall candles. Bye, summer!
