Top Five Friday #66
Happy Weekend everyone! This was a weird week for me- any week that starts with a holiday always feels off. The warm weather and humidity is also back with a vengeance, so I'm more than ready for this week to be over! I have some fun plans this weekend that I'll talk about below (WE ARE!). Let's get into these favorites!
I love watching YouTube videos, and one of the current crazes is beauty vloggers recreating their high school makeup looks. Most of them have been fun to watch, but Jenna Marbles went all out and helped me relive some of the crazy fads from the 90s. This is such a hilarious video and I had to share it! For all my 90s babies out there, this one's for you.

Heat and Eat Oatmeal
Most mornings I'm rushing out of the house to get to the gym, and rarely have time (or energy) to make a good breakfast. When I saw this recipe on Budget Bytes to make pre-made oatmeal that you can just grab and nuke in the morning, I made it right away! This is pretty much the equivalent of instant oatmeal, but a lot healthier and even easier! Next time I make it, I think I'll try it with some pumpkin for a fall flavored oatmeal!Penn State vs. Pitt
Well everyone- this is the big weekend! Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh are playing against each other for the first time in 16 years! If that doesn't seem like a long time, picture this- they played in Three Rivers Stadium. I'm a third generation Nittany Lion, and my family is all getting together to watch the game. I've been looking forward to this for years (Penn State vs Pitt was the first game I ever went to at Beaver Stadium!) so I can't wait! To top it all off- I'm going to Penn State for a recruiting trip right after the game!
Suicide Squad Soundtrack
I give all the credit to Suzy for this one! We share the same taste in music (AKA the best kind), so when she told me to listen to the soundtrack I did immediately. I haven't even seen the movie and probably won't, but I'm so into all of these songs. If you're looking for some great music to run to or just jam out while you listen in the shower, give this a listen! (you can listen to all of these songs on youtube)
Grease Fan Theory
I'm going to leave you with this fan theory of what really happened in the movie Grease. Just reading the article gave me chills and it kind of seems realistic! What do you think?
Have you ever seen the movie Grease?
What are your plans for the weekend?
Penn State or Pitt? If anyone chooses Pitt, we can no longer be friends.
I love Grease so now I'm off to read that article! Hope you have an awesome weekend, girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristy!!
Deleteum, I don't even kno what to say about this grease thing. you have just altered my childhood lol. can it really be?
ReplyDeleteI think someone just had a lot of free time on their hands and wanted to create a conspiracy haha!
DeleteI saw the thing about Grease, and I think that it is hilarious. I wonder what other movies/stories we can alter like that?
ReplyDeleteProbably all of them..if you have enough time to rewatch over and over!
DeleteGrease is my all time favorite movie & this theory has been going around for years so I have no idea how it's just making it's rounds right now! I think people read too much into things lol - I think it's just a silly movie - & I like to think when they're in the car flying at the end they're on 'cloud 9'. :) & I don't really care for college football, & I have friends who went to both PSU & Pitt!
ReplyDeleteI believe that a celebrity (I feel like it was Sarah Jessica Parker maybe?) tweeted about it so people started to talk about it!
DeleteIn the play it just ends at the carnival, so I think it's a funny theory. I wore makeup in HS but when I look back at my pics, it looks like I have none on!
ReplyDeleteSame for me! I was never very bold with my makeup.
DeleteI've heard that theory before..i just want it to be a light hearted musical! haha...too much!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it is and the theory is just made up! The director even said that it was completely false and ridiculous lol!
DeleteTotally doing the oatmeal thing. At first I thought you wrote "puke" not "nuke" which pretty much makes the oatmeal that much more badass. It would go along nicely with the Suicide Squad soundtrack (you totally need to see it! I've seen it twice!)
ReplyDeleteNo puke here :)
DeleteLOVE Budget Bytes. I've adapted a soup recipe of hers for red lentil and pumpkin soup that is delicious & would be super easy to make vegan, I think it calls for chicken stock, but add veggie stock instead & BOOM. So delicious with a big hunk of bread, and it was ready to eat in like 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen Grease a grand total of like twice & seeing as how I was raised in KY, I have literally no opinion of PSU VS PITT. But UK vs Louisville will bring out some hate. Haha.
I'm making that tonight for dinner! Great idea to change it up :)
DeleteI am living for this Penn State/Pitt game! I've been a Pitt fan for years and remember the good old days of the Big East. My mom had tickets but she's traveling so gave them to my brother. To say I was mad is an understatement. lol.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you got to watch it..you probably loved the outcome :/
DeleteI love Grease... and that theory is ridiculous. ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree!!
DeleteWE ARE!!! I'll be tailgating and catching the game at a bar unless I get a great last minute ticket deal :)
ReplyDeletePenn State!
DeleteI'm also a PSU alum - Go State!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Too bad we didn't win..better luck this weekend!
DeleteI'll have to check out that soundtrack. Great post. :]

Ha, at my school it's always Penn st vs Pitt fans! I see a ton more PSU fans in my area. People are die hard fans I tell ya. I honestly couldn't care either way. But hey, at least I'm not a Pitt fan so we can still be friends!
ReplyDeleteYes they are! People get CRAZY. And yes..still friends :)
Deleteinteresting re: grease!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love conspiracy theories :)
