Top Five Friday #76
Happy Friday! Here are my favorite things from the past week:
Food Processor
Out with the old and in with the new! I've had the same tiny food processor since I moved into my first apartment (I ordered it off of Hautelook for about $15!). Even though it works fine, it's super small and I always had to blend up small batches of ingredients. I finally decided to upgrade to a larger machine that also has a slicing and chopping insert, as well as an opening in the top to add in ingredients without shutting off the machine. I picked up this food processor from Amazon and it's affordable and works so well!
ATP World Finals
I'm sad that the tennis season is ending (for a few weeks, but still), but I've been loving the Finals this week! For the first time since I started to follow tennis, Novak Djokovic is not number one in the world. This sets up an intense competition with everything on the line. I can't wait to see what happens, and hope that Djokovic will be on top of the standings again!
YSL Babydoll Mascara
I picked up the Lash Stash kit last weekend at Sephora during their 20% off sale, and one of the items was a full size of the YSL babydoll mascara. I really, really wanted to hate this because it's expensive ($32 for a mascara...really!?) but it's amazing. It gives me such long, luscious lashes without looking fake or gross at all! It applies beautifully and made the entire kit worth it. Now I just have to convince myself that drug store mascara is good enough for me...sigh...
Mannequin Challenge
I don't even care that I'm late on this, but I've been loving watching Mannequin Challenges the past few weeks! I keep forgetting to mention it, but these videos are so entertaining to watch. If you haven't heard of this, it's a phenomenon sweeping the Internet where a group of people holds a pose while a camera zooms around and the song Black Beatle plays. So many different groups are getting in on this and I love them all!
Runner's World
This month, Runner's World feature cover stories and photos of regular runners, and the cover winner really inspired me. His name is Josh Lajaunie, and he lost tons of weight and inspired his community to get healthy by running and changing to a plant-based diet. I loved his interview, and you can check it out here!
Oh I like your Friday Funny! I have 2 little ones and life is sometimes unpredictable so I have to remind myself that sometimes just getting not as much done as I wanted is still getting something done and still good. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cat! Hope you have a great one too :)
DeleteOMG have you seen the Texas A & M Gymnastics team mannequin challenge????
ReplyDeleteNO! Looking now :)
DeleteI am in need of a large food processor. I'm still smacking myself for registering for a small one when we were engaged---why oh why?!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! It works great but it's such a pain..
DeleteOur school is actually doing the mannequin challenge today!
ReplyDeleteI hope you share the video :)
DeleteI've been loving the mannequin challenges too, I'm like why do I like watching these so much?? haha. YSL is the only mascara I'll use every once in a while instead of lancome! For some reason drugstore mascaras are impossible to remove, so I never even bother trying them because I end up really frustrated.
ReplyDeleteI can only remove them with baby oil. Takes everything right off!
DeleteHoly crap! I'm going to go buy that Runner's World! I don't usually buy magazines anymore but I know Andrew would like reading that story too!
ReplyDeleteIf you can't find it let me know and I'll send you my copy :)
DeleteThe teachers at my school want to try to organize mannequin challenge for our kids, that should be interesting, lol. And yay for new kitchen essentials, I love that these are the exciting things when you become an adult. I love using my food processor to make pesto or energy bites :)
ReplyDeleteI need to make some energy bites soon!
DeleteYay new kitchen appliances! I love reading success stories about people who changed their lifestyle in such a positive way!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI love that you watch tennis - I don't know many people who do! I used to play tennis (on a team) myself and I always loved watching the pros!
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, I don't play tennis at all! I wish I could but I'm really awful.
Deleteoh my gosh, i LOVE my food processor. so versatile, and i totally thought i'd never use it and we use it all the time. love it.
ReplyDeleteoh man.. mascara is my favourite.. i really want to try that YSL mascara but i'm with you.. $32? that's crazy. so i'll just pretend i don't know how awesome it is haha.
