WIAW : Election Day
Happy Hump Day! And most importantly of all- the election madness is finally over and I can resume following people on social media again. Today I'm going to be sharing how I spent Election Day as told from my Snapchat story, along with what I ate!
5:30 - Wake up and cuddle with Selma for the next half hour. I got to sleep in today since I was voting before work (I usually leave my house at 6, but the polls opened at 7). Take Selma outside and get ready for work.
6:27 - Make some coffee and grab my lunch before heading out to warm up the car and head out to vote!
6:42 - There weren't too many people there when we arrived, but it quickly filled up. I was voter #6..my lucky number :)
7:46 - Get into work and eat some pumpkin baked oatmeal and drink water. My boss told everyone to take their time getting in so we could all vote in the morning, so I was an hour late but somehow made it in before anyone else.
8:00 - Start the madness...here's a look at my day:
1:14 - Grab my lunch to eat during my meeting. I originally had my lunch meeting cancelled, but immediately got pulled into something else. I miss having a free lunch hour! For lunch I had a black bean burrito bowl and some of my dip that I shared yesterday. In my bowl was rice, black beans, potatoes, onions, spinach, salsa, and Tofutti vegan sour cream.
4:47 - Head home. On the bus I catch up on my podcasts and Snapchat.
5:30 - HOME! Make a quick and easy dinner- pasta with TJ's Chickenless Tenders (seriously so good but not really healthy), side salad of tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, cilantro, and balsamic vinegar, and red wine. I eat, watch Gilmore Girls, and write out this post. Multi tasking at its finest!
6:02 - Eat the rest of my Dark Chocolate bar (so good) and log in to work. I have to get some things prepared for a meeting I'm running tomorrow and the work never ends! Everything's better with some chocolate and wine though :)
7:14 - Finish up work and clean the kitchen. I've been making a point to wash dishes and clean all the counters before I go to bed each night, and it's really helping me keep the order in our house.
7:31 - Finally time to relax. Read some magazines that have been piling up, catch up on Dancing With the Stars, and cuddle with Selma!
8:47 - Get my stuff ready for work tomorrow and finish typing up this post, then finish my night with some night time yoga (something new I'm trying to help me sleep better and help my night terrors), reading, and occasionally checking election results. Good night!
Did you vote? And more importantly- did you get a sticker?! No one that I know in Pittsburgh got one!
What's your favorite snack?
Do you get your stuff ready the night before?

We got wrist bands. I wanted a sticker. So now I know what a real and proper schedule looks like :D
ReplyDeleteWRIST BANDS!??! What the..
DeleteHAH Your meeting schedule made me laugh because of all the acronyms! My calendar looks the same way, haha .
ReplyDeleteI did vote and I proudly wore my sticker!
It's the worst...like alphabet soup :(
DeleteSounds like a busy day! No one around you got stickers? My place had stickers and snacks! I try and prep things as much as possible the night before for my own sanity. Early work mornings call for prepping ahead!
ReplyDeleteOne person at work got stickers..and they looked like some weird generic kind (not the recognizable I Voted ones everyone takes a picture with).
DeleteI hate days like that, where I just go from meeting to meeting. I need time to be at my desk to get actual work done.
ReplyDeleteI voted after work. So I wore my sticker for about half an hour before I changed and went for a run.
It's been like that so much for me..hence the need to work in the evenings too :( Busy time will pass though!
DeleteI love that you documented your voting day, I keep meaning to do a day in the life post but it never seems to make it to the top of my to do list! I'm Canadian, so no voting or stickers for me! My favourite snack is pretzels and greek yogurt tatziki dip and I always try and get things ready the night before!
ReplyDeleteOhh that sounds so good..
DeleteCleaning my kitchen before going to bed is a MUST for me. I will stay up late just to do it. Knowing I can wake up and not deal with it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI used to be SO bad about it and never realized why I always felt stressed when I went in the kitchen!
DeleteYour so lucky that you didn't have to wait in line! Many people I know had had to wait 2 plus hours. Those chicken-less tenders also sound amazing Ill have to pick them up at TJs!
ReplyDeleteI'm very lucky! Everyone else I work with had super long lines.
DeleteI meant to send you a picture - my co-worker got a sticker, a BIG one too! So did a bunch of friends on the other side of the state, so IDK what our deal is.
ReplyDeleteDANGIT! I need to move to her precinct ;)
DeleteWe got to vote by mail in ballot which was fun! :) You had a long eventful voting day! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite snack is bananas and peanut butter. :)
I wish we could vote that way!
DeleteI HAVE to get the dishes done and have the counters cleaned when I go to bed. I hate waking up in the morning to a mess. It rarely happens, but when it does, it makes my day start out crappy!
ReplyDeleteI hate it too but finally made myself actually clean before sleeping! Such a difference now :)
DeleteI can't believe they didn't give you stickers! How are you supposed to take a voting selfie?!? and 'chicken' tenders and pasta sounds like such a winning combo! My favorite snack is anything with nut butter or a bar like Quest, RX, or Larabar.
ReplyDeleteMy entire day was RUINED over those stickers!!
DeleteI hate the days I have back to back meetings and unfortunately it happens far too often! And coincidentally Sharepoint has been on my calendar this week too ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy day! It's compulsory to vote in Australia and we don't get stickers (or free donuts... or anything :P) so I always think it's funny that most states in the US get stickers :P
ReplyDeleteI love getting a glimpse in other people's daily life! I have to do one of these posts some time! :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely voted (1st person at my polling place) and yes, I got a sticker! Yay!
My favorite snack is trail mix. And I always try to get (most) stuff ready the night before. It makes the morning less stressful!
