Farewell Tour

Image
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great week- this was my final full week in Pittsburgh and was very busy with getting last touches done to our house and packing like crazy. I didn't really have a productive week of workouts (which is absolutely to be expected) but it definitely helped me mentally when I was able to get in even a short workout. Here's a look at how my week went- Monday 20 min Evening Yoga Flow with Kristin I'm starting off my week with an evening flow, which is perfect because it was a great way to ease into the day. Nothing too fast or intense- just relaxing flows. I haven't taken a class with Kristin in a while but I love her style and need to get back to it! 45 min Bike Bootcamp with Jess It felt great to be back to Monday Mayhem! This was the first class in a while that I actually felt like I pushed myself and I could FEEL it. This was a tough class but I was proud of myself at the end which is a feeling I've been missing. Tuesday 10 min Morning

A Quarantine Reflection

Image
Hi everyone! I have a bit of a different post to share today- a post-quarantine survey that I saw on Cupcakes and Cashmere . As of last Friday I am fully vaccinated, so it feels like we're almost out of this nightmare of a year. I know there's still a long way to go (particularly for people in other countries), but if I've learned something during this time it's that I'm ready to roll with the punches and not make any concrete plans. For now- let's get to the questions and reflect a bit on the past year and what's coming next. I'd love to hear your answers as well! Biggest Daydreams... An image that embodies where you'd like to be this year?  My goal in life in general is to explore as much as possible. I want to see and do a variety of things- getting to meet new and interesting people that are different than me- trying out new restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, parks and just enjoying life. Last year was all about staying in and embracing home l

Trial Ending

Good morning and Happy Monday! Pittsburgh is a little dreary and rainy this morning but last week was absolutely gorgeous. We had a couple of super hot days, and it really felt like summer has arrived. I'm hoping the rain will stop for the rest of the week because we have house painters to do our exterior, and our move date is next week! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. Here's a look at my week- Monday 10 min Yoga Flow with Kirra (Peloton) New week- same start with my morning yoga. Today's was actually live which was a nice change of pace. I even got a shout-out before class which was exciting!  30 min Hip Hop Ride with Alex (P) I haven't taken a ride with Alex for a while but this one was super fun. Great playlist and great energy. 5 min Core Strength with Emma (P) Week 1, Day 2 of the Crush your Core program. Another class where we pushed the entire time so I was super tired by the end! Tuesday 20 min Slow Flow with Chelsea (P) Relaxing start to the day with some

Cooking from Cookbooks : Vegan for Everybody

Image
Hi everyone and welcome back to another delicious post. In the past, I've shared about trying out recipes from different blogs (you can find all of the posts here ), and today we'll be slightly switching things up and cooking from a cookbook - Vegan for Everybody from America's Test Kitchen. My friend and fellow blogger Alexa lent me this book, and now I'm planning on purchasing it myself after trying out a few recipes! (PS- you can see her review of the book here ).  I absolutely loved this cookbook! Not only did it make cooking vegan seem approachable, but also had explanations of why  each recipe worked or why certain ingredients/steps were included. It helped to reignite my passion for cooking vegan food (which has been kind of waning in the past year with wanting to make more comfort food). I can't wait to buy this for myself and try out all the recipes. Here's a look at the recipes that I tried out for a full day of meals, along with my thoughts on each d

Busy Busy

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a great week and weekend-mine was definitely busy with house stuff and seeing friends outside (thanks to beautiful weather!) so I'm hoping for a slightly more chill and relaxing week. Here's a look at my workouts! Monday 10 min Yoga with Denis (Peloton) This class had all of my favorites- a few leg stretches and then some balance. I always love a class with lots of balance in it! Great start to the week and day. 45 min Carribbean Bike Bootcamp with Jess (P) I got out of the habit of doing bike bootcamps on Mondays when Jess took a few weeks off, so this was extra rough. I haven't really been in the mood to push myself too hard in classes lately since I'm feeling a lot of stress in other areas of my life, so once again I just took this class easy. I know that I'll get back to tough workouts, but now is just not the time and that's alright! Tuesday 5 min Mindful Cooldown with Dustin (Apple Fitness +) Nice and gentle w

March + April Reads and Reviews

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Today I'll be sharing the books that I read in March and April. I definitely had a bunch of duds in March, including a DNF, but wanted to get my reading groove back in April (which is why I made it a goal to read 5 books!). My picks were a little all over the place this month- some mystery/drama, lots of romcom, and a semi-post-apocoplyptic novel. Let's get to the books! The Push by Ashley Audrain Blythe Connor is determined that she will be the warm, comforting mother to her new baby Violet that she herself never had. But in the thick of motherhood’s exhausting early days, Blythe becomes convinced that something is wrong with her daughter–she doesn’t behave like most children do. Or is it all in Blythe’s head? Her husband, Fox, says she’s imagining things. The more Fox dismisses her fears, the more Blythe begins to question her own sanity, and the more we begin to question what Blythe is telling us about her life as well. Then their son Sam is born–and w

May Goals and Highlights

Image
Can you even believe it's May? Time is weird...I almost feel like April didn't even happen. I was a lot busier than previous months, so I think having more projects to do and more to look forward to helped make the month fly by.  Let's start off with my highlight of the month, which would be the camping trip that I took last week! I shared some pictures from our hikes in my workouts summary on Monday , but the entire trip was so relaxing and nice. I've been having a really stressful few weeks at work, coupled with getting ready to sell our house and moving, so having three days with no Internet connection and be able to just relax was VERY much needed. I would highly recommend everyone visit Rickett's Glen State Park - the park was beautiful and it was my favorite camping site! Now I just have to go back when the weather is better... Now let's talk about my annual goals- 2021 Combined Miles January -  44 running miles and 218 bike miles for a total of 262 miles

Chasing Waterfalls

Happy Monday everyone! This was a crazy busy week - a little midweek camping trip as well as some fun on the weekend. It was a little bit all over the place which is always nice to help break up the monotony I've been having this year! I hope you all had a great week as well, and enjoyed some warmer weather. Here's what my week looked like! Monday 10 min Yoga Flow with Mariana (Peloton) This might have been a short class but it was really great! It was a beginner level so everything felt nice but we still moved a lot. I'm getting more used to the Spanish in this class and I'm loving it! Time to Walk with Nick Jonas (Apple Fitness +) This week's walk was with the one and only Nick Jonas! I was a fan of the Jonas Brothers back in the day and still love Nick's music (I'm also enjoying him as a coach this year on The Voice). It was interesting hearing how the band got started and how he's dealt with career changes in his life. I also liked hearing about how
