Good morning everyone! Life has been so hectic lately- so far in April I volunteered and paced at the Umstead 100 Miler (SUCH a great experience), ran in the Tar Heel 10 Miler, visited Richmond with my family, dove straight into house hunting, and got offered a new job! Like I said in my monthly goals post- life is full of changes lately! Can't wait to share more.
For today's post since I haven't been on here much lately, I thought it would fun to do an old fashioned favorites post. I have a few things that I've been loving lately and want to talk about, so I hope you'll find something new to try (and also share with me any life-changing products you're obsessed with). Let's get into it!
Backpack - Funny enough, I actually got this backpack at the start of 2020 because of all the travel I had planned. I'm finally getting to use it this year and absolutely love it! It has so many useful compartments to keep me organized, and it also works great for working from a coffeeshop and lugging around my laptop and tech accessories.
Tea - I've been on a major tea kick since I cut off coffee in February (I've been drinking it occasionally since then but not everyday like I used to). I've been trying a bunch of different brands and testing out loose leaf and tea bags. Some of my favorite brands and flavors are the ginger tea from Yogi (great for upset stomachs especially in the morning) and Pukka's day to night pack (loved trying out different kinds for different parts of the day). I also visited Carriage House Tea in Asheboro and loved it if you're ever in the area.
Korean Vegan Cookbook - I've mentioned a few times on here that I've been loving borrowing cookbooks from the library, and this has got to be my favorite one so far. I wasn't super familiar with Korean food before, but after making a few trips to H Mart I knew I wanted to try out some of the ingredients. This cookbook is full of delicious recipes that are easy to follow, and they're all vegan! By far my favorite recipe was the doenjang onions, which I've made countless times and can eat on their own, or add to any dish to make it so flavorful. Every recipe has been a hit and I need to buy a copy so I can try more!
Abbott Elementary - I'm always very late to the game with TV shows so I'm new to the bandwagon but I love this show!! It's so funny and just as relatable as The Office was, but set in a dysfunctional elementary school. I would highly recommend if you want a light-hearted but also heart-warming show to add to your rotation.
Libby App - When we moved to North Carolina, I started going to the library all the time (see above) and checking out physical books. While I'm still loving that, I've also started getting into audiobooks for long car rides or walks. I've been using the Libby app which connects with my library card, and it's so great! I can also check out e-books on there if I want to read on my Kindle, and it's so fast and easy!
Athleisure - I might also be a bit late to the athleisure trend when the pandemic started, but I'm finally on board. It took me a while to want to spend money on casual clothes that aren't meant for a hard workout, but with places like Target (their JoyLab brand is SO good) and Senita- I've been getting cute things that are comfortable, breathable, and affordable. My favorites are these joggers from Senita that I got based on a recommendation from a friend, and these pants from JoyLab (I have the matching hoodie too and it's my go-to for dog walks!)
What are your recent faves?
Oh, wow, house hunting! An offer of a new job! I cannot wait until you can (and do) share more details.
ReplyDeleteYogi tea is wonderful. Have you tried the Egyptian Licorice? It does NOT - for the record - taste like licorice. I... don't know how to describe it but it's spicy and sweet and very good. :)
I haven't tried that one! Or even noticed it before. I actually love the taste of licorice so I definitely have to try it, even if it doesn't taste like it :) Thanks for the recommendation!
